First, I want to thank SkyQuajus, known as Trusiifuu, for allowing me to write this question-and-answer-style blog. I am grateful, humbled, and honored that we turned a positive conversation into a healthy blog about how he got into photography.
Feel free to correct me, but I do not see too many photographers highlighting another photographer on their blogs, but let me be the first to break that trend.
I asked Trusiifuu when I walked into his workplace, ROOTED https://stay-rooted.com, one of the most popular retail stores in Nashville, TN; ROOTED a few questions about his path in the photography world. I'm using a simple Q&A form about his career as a film photographer.
Trusiifuu is a film photographer and The founder of FROMTHERMOTHERLANDS. This man is making big moves, and I feel that he should be highlighted.
Where are you from?
I was originally born in Detroit, MI but raised in Nashville, Tn. South Nashville, to be exact!
How old are you?
I am a 23-year-old film photographer.
What inspired you to get into photography?
Honestly, I started photography to help me express myself and escape mentally. My Granddad would tell me a lot of the time that I needed to find some form of activity that I could use as an outlet to release emotions, and the camera was something that I gravitated to.
Who are your influences?
I would say the people I find most influential would be my Granddad, Gunner Stahl, Dennis Rodman, and honestly, my friends are my biggest Inspo. Watching them create/challenge themselves to be better is what keeps me going!
Where do you want to take your photography career?
At this very moment, I don't know, but I do know I wanna focus on more editorial work as well as conceptual work like the enxgma test. I've always just been the photographer to document events, studio sessions, and things of that nature. Still, I really wanna start looking more into working with more high-end fashion and streetwear magazines.
What's the end state?
I just wanna be the best version of myself, keep learning, keep meeting people and keep thriving for more! I feel like with this; there is no real end goal because, honestly, there is always more to do. I just want to be great and inspire people to do the same.
